Codex Bonisagi 1186 AD |
|
|
|
|
|
This collection of textus laboris and tractatus is legendary among magi Bonisagi, and is even
well-known among other magi. Although most Codices Bonisagi contain no discoveries, this Codex is notable for containing
material related to four separate discoveries by four different Bonisagi; all formally published within the same seven-year
period.
Porta Germaniae's copy is contained in four oak-bound codices soliti graciles, each
dedicated to one of the four discoveries.
Horace Bonisagi describes in a tractatus (Q9) on Hermetic Theory and an accompanying sample textum laboris,
how to enchant a special type of lesser enchantment that requires no vis. His devices, called facultas aurae, will
only function in an appropriate mystical Aura of sufficient
strength.
Aelfred Bonisagi discovered a new mastery
ability that aids a magus in maintaining concentration on the
applicable spell. He has included a sample original spell, Dictata Silentii Irruptus, along with a tractatus (Q10) describing the new mastery ability for
this spell.
Khalil Bonisagi writes of a new mastery ability
that augments the Finesse of the casting magus. He has
included a sample original spell, Barathrum Telluris Voracis, and a tractatus (Q10) on the
mastery of that spell, which educates the reader on how to
incorporate this new mastery talent.
Placida Bonisagi has developed a way to teach
non-Mercurian magi how to cast rituals in a Mercurian fashion, which
can reduce the vis cost of the associated ritual. She
includes a sample original spell, Orbis Salutaris Galenis, which is of great value in its own right,
along with a tractatus (Q9) describing how to use the new mastery
ability.

This collection of textus laboris and tractatus contains three tractatus and three textus laboris, on five topics.
Porta Germaniae's copy is contained in five oak-bound codices, each
dedicated to one of the five topics.
Saturninus Bonisagi describes a method of spell mastery he calls "Ceremonial Casting," which enables a magus to use ceremonial casting methods with formulaic spells, much in the manner of ritual casting. The codex parvus octonarius includes a textum laboris for an original spell Tranquillum Laboratorii Silentis (PeIm20) along with a tractatus (Q7) on mastery of that spell, illustrating the mastery method.

Esquiva Bonisagi has written a textus laboris for an original spell Visus Scopi Magici, (InVi25) which allows a magus to detect the borders of magical Targets such as Groups, Structures, and Boundaries.
