udaris, Domus Magna Tytali, occupies the isle of Ushant off the western tip of Brittany. The island is bordered on all sides by sheer cliffs. The western side is slightly less steep, with a deep bay where a small fishing village huddles. The conventum proper sits on the edge of cliffs on the eastern, landward, side of the island. A high wall without any gate or opening blocks off the end of a peninsula pointing eastward to the mainland, beyond which are a number of structures; some inhabited, some not. The remainder of the island is bare except for a few flocks of runty wild sheep. A stone building on the mainland opposite the conventum is provided for Redcaps; a Mercere Portal linking to Durenmar used to exist on this site, and its stones form part of one wall. Gaining access to the island is not easy, and the conventum makes no provision for visitors to make it easier. Fudaris is reputed to have supernatural guardians that must be avoided or overcome even to reach the island, much less the conventum. Fudaris has only a few covenfolk. Although a few older laboratory buildings sit atop the peninsula, most sancta are built into the cliffsides. Traditionally, whenever a resident magus demises, his sanctum is sealed. New residents must build their own sanctum. There are no guest facilities of any kind; Fudaris does not welcome guests. Residents must provide for their own servants, guards, and upkeep. The only shared resources are the vis sources claimed or controlled by Fudaris. Distribution of vis is reputed to involve contests among the residents, with the exception of the Prima who automatically gains a large share. Tytali gatherings are held outside the walls on Ushant Island. Participants must provide for their own support during the gathering, and are encouraged to leave again as soon as it is over. Successfully reaching Ushant for a gathering is typically sufficient to be allowed entrance into Domus Tytali, although Certamen challenges from magi Tytali who disapprove may result in expulsion from Ushant before admittance is granted by the Prima.
