Jalloun is an Andalusian Arab, scion of a wealthy family. His Gift was detected reasonably early, and Mouza Ex Miscellanea, a powerful Hermetic Sahir, claimed the boy as his discipulus. Jalloun eventually surpassed his parens, and has achieved great respect among his fellow sahirs. His parens was slain in Bellum Magum with Azucena Flambonis; Jalloun regards this as an honorable death, but considers Azucena to be a less-than-honorable enemy.

Jalloun married in his youth, and had many children by them. Although his wives have all demised, most of his children, and their children and grand-children, survive. He had hoped one of his chilren would manifest The Gift, but although some have minor magical talents, none were Gifted. He searched throughout Hispania and Africa, and discovered a young girl in Fez with the Gift. He purchased her from her mother, and raised Dahlia Fassia almost as a daughter, as well as teaching her as his first apprentice. He married his son Tariq to the girl while she was still his apprentice, bringing her formally into his family.

Years after, he discovered that a distant relative, a great-nephew descended from his sister, had manifested The Gift, and took young Zayed as his second apprentice. Zayed, while young, shows promise.

Jalloun has quarters in hayi Jalloun at Rabat Kasbah, although he spends most of his time away from Rabat. He speaks Arabic, Latin, and some Tamazight.
