Mychajlo Vaulasyn, the son of Karda Medvěd, takes after his large father. He was raised among the pagan Zálesáki, learning to hunt and survive in the wilderness. Then he was selected to become custos to a future magus, and began training with a group of similar youths, learning all sorts of things he never imagined before.

Mychajlo serves as custos for Aurelius Bonisagi (who is husband to his sister-in-law Ramune Dýemmadcera). He speaks Czech and some Latin and Russian, and lives in a home in the hranice with his wife Elzbieta Dýemmadcera.
