edes Merceris Hiberniae lies south of the Cumar na dTri Uisce, where the Nore, Barrow, and Suir rivers join, about six miles east of Waterford. The main building is a thick-walled timber and earth structure with a stout gate and embrasures along the outer walls. Several barns and sheds surround it at a distance, and a wooden wharf on the Suir river usually has at least one merchant cog at dock. Among the locals, the place is known as Narthop (from Norse knarr and thorpe), but most magi simply refer to the place as Waterford, as they have little reason to visit the town. Visitors are welcome, but are expected to pay for quarters and meals. Arrangements for passage on suitable vessels to the continent may also be made, for a suitable price. Passage through via Mercere Portal to Harco may also be purchased.
