ake Prespa, southeast of Ohrid, is home to a stia, a mermaid-like being who is the patron of conventum Stia Prespa. The conventum occupies an island near the west shore of the lake. Most of the conventum is wooden, with foundations of field stone.

The Sedes Merceris lies north of the lake, in a stout fortified stone manor near the Via Egnatia, along the route between Ohrid and Bitola.
